“I draw people all the time,” says Mark Ulriksen, the artist behind this week’s cover, “Star-Studded Evening.” “I try to just exaggerate slightly certain aspects of them, to have it be more of a caricature or a comic likeness. The problem with some of the movie stars today, though, is: What color is their hair? Jennifer Lawrence—is it brown? Is it blonde? Is it dirty blonde? It changes all the time! How long or short is Bradley Cooper’s hair? Same with Hugh Jackman. Frankly, to me, Bradley Cooper, Hugh Jackman, and Joaquin Phoenix all look alike. There’s just this kind of look right now for male movie stars that says: strong chin, high cheek bones, stubble, light colored eyes, and hair that changes every other month.”
